 Helga is a young Terrier mix up for adoption at the BARC shelter! Helga is up for Adoption! Helga was adopted from BARC in March 2011. She is a 10-month-old Cairn Terrier mix, Female, about 17 pounds, originally surrendered because they couldnt care for her anymore. Helga was just returned to BARC in June 2011 because she got a little nippy with the little boy she was living in the household with. She is submissive and really sweet when this puppy gets to know you.

 Adopt Jacob at the BARC Shelter in Brooklyn, NY! Jacob is one big puppy. He is playful and goofy, and he doesn’t realize how big he is. He needs some basic training, but is eager to please. He was found wandering the streets, but he has an easygoing and sweet persona. He hasn’t got an angry bone in his body and he enjoys playing with other big dogs.

 Come meet Socrates at the BARC Shelter! Socrates is a low maintenance dog. He was brought to a groomer by his family and after grooming, they did not pick him up. The groomer discovered that the phone number and address they had was false. They were located near a famous Italian bakery (Fortunato’s), animal lovers and good friends of the BARC Shelter. They called us and we took in gentle little Socrates, sweeter than the blueberry cheesecake that accompanied him. He spends his time on the laps of volunteers, but he does enjoy going out for short walks. When he is out, he has a pep in his step that is adorable and he gets along fine with other dogs and cats, but you have to be careful that they don’t jump on him. At his late age, Socrates is developing moles on his body, but they are not cancerous, so we are praying that we can find him a quiet home where he can live his final years in safety and with a loving family.
