In the shelter he is very shy when you come to put his leash on and then once out of the kennel and shelter he is a different dog. Very friendly and loving, he might even try to jump in your lap. Colt is very thin and loves treats, so when you come to visit and want to make a friend fast — bring a few dog bones. Colt is not house trained and will need a refresher course, or starting over from square one. In his new home he would probably be OK with a cat , possibly another calm dog and teens or older would be best. Border Collie Dog Temperament The Border Collie is a bundle of mental and physical energy awaiting its chance to be unleashed on the world.
Among the most intelligent and obedient of breeds. Given sufficient exercise, he is a dependable and loyal companion. He is intent on whatever he does and tends to stare, which can be unnerving to other animals. He also likes to chase other animals. He is reserved, even protective, toward strangers. Border Collie Dog Care — Few dogs are as work-oriented as the Border Collie. This is a dog that needs a job. He needs a lot of physical and mental activity every day to satisfy his quest for work. He enjoys being with his family. His coat needs brushing or combing twice weekly.

 Roo Magoo in Ridgefield, CT! Roo Magoo is up for Adoption! MAGOO IS IN FOSTER CARE: Truth is, we have no idea what breed DNA is in this guy. He is about the size of a beagle, stocky with short legs, and has the beautiful ticking and soft coat of a blue tick coonhound. And did we mention he has a great temperament? Magoo is 5 years old and fully grown. He appears to be housebroken, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for a forever home.

 Genevieve in Boston, MA Genevieve is up for Adoption! Hi there, I’m Genevieve, aren’t I as pretty as my name? I am a 5 year old spayed female pit bull mix. There were allergies in my home, so I had to come here to find a new home. This is my second time here and I am really hoping that this time I can find my true forever home! I am a love — rub my tummy and I will be your friend for life! I enjoy going for walks. I get a little excited when I play, so older kids only for me please. Come on in and take me for a walk – you’ll fall in love, I know it!
A Note on Pit Bulls: These lovely dogs are too often given a bad reputation. The reputation is due to mistreatment by people. Our dog, Tucket, is a Pitbull-Akita-Chow mix. Three very strong breeds.
